Monticello School System
The school districts
of Monticello consist of
professional staff and
administration that are dedicated to
quality and equity in education for
all students. The Monticello school
districts are multicultural,
appreciate community contributions,
and encourage student development in
all areas of education. The
Monticello School District has
created a Comprehensive District
Educational Plan (CDEP) to achieve
their goals, which include the four
priority areas of literacy, math,
student achievement, and improved
learning environment. The mission
statements of each school in the
Monticello school district are very
similar, but below are the summaries
of each school's individual mission.
Emma C. Chase Elementary School's mission indicates the importance of
working with parents and the
community to produce productive
citizens by encouraging intellectual
curiosity, positive self-esteem,
mutual respect, academic excellence,
and lifelong learning. Fostering
intellectual and creative
development, emotional growth,
social maturity, and physical
well-being is important to the
nurturing environment and
standards-based curriculum.
George L. Cooke Elementary School's mission is to provide all children
with the opportunity to achieve full
personal and academic potential in a
safe, caring, child-centered
environment.
Cornelius Duggan Elementary School's mission statement indicates the
school's dedication to prepare
confident and successful students
that will be able to conquer the
goal of lifelong learning. The
Duggan Elementary School uses a
challenging curriculum and endows
all students with a academically
nurturing, secure, healthy learning
environment.
Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School's mission states guidelines for a
great environment where children can
reach their fullest potential to
become responsible citizens.
Rutherford Elementary school's
philosophy is that all students can
achieve the basic grade-level skills
and that it is their responsibility
to educate each student to his or
her highest potential. The
elementary school also promotes
positive social and emotional growth
and takes the responsibility of
endowing all students with an equal
opportunity for highest academic
potential.
The Robert J. Kaiser Middle School recognizes the importance of
addressing the needs of students who
are embarking on the journey from
childhood to adolescence. The middle
school is now located in a new
building, which is designed to make
this transition a positive period
for the students, allowing them to
emerge with great ambition to
accomplish their goals.
Monticello High School's diversified education program emphasizes the
quote, Stretch Your Mind: Expand
Your World. Aside from an array of
high school classes, the high school
also offers advanced placement and
honors courses; vocational and
technical training; Distance
Learning; special needs education;
and the opportunities to earn
college credits, participate in
Academy of Finance, and to
experience learning through
placement in the community.
Monticello High School's modified
block schedule provides for the
chance to be active learners and
choose from nine different academic
options.
